Mama’s Love Biography

Mama’s Love is an American Rock band formed in Athens, Georgia in 2007. Like the town where the band resides, their sound is progressive with hints of classic tones. Energetic live shows, definitive song craftsmanship, and a genre-defying sound have formed the buzz that follows the Mama’s Love experience. They maintain a strong sense of tradition in classic American music, while staying progressive with their improvisational segments and song structures. Catchy melodies, lyrical hooks, and layered harmonies are supported by a tight rhythmic foundation. With a classic rock, funk, soul, and Americana flavor, Mama’s Love harvests their songs from the roots of time.

Continuous touring has built a devoted fanbase across major music markets in the southeast and along the east coast. With influences like Little Feat, The Grateful Dead, and Steely Dan, they play with a rare maturity and integrity. The demand to play in clubs and theatres has been increasing with the rise of their musicianship, and the reception from their rowdy and loyal fanbase. With their reputation on the rise, Mama’s Love has shared the stage with artists such as Col. Bruce Hampton & The Quark Alliance, Futurebirds, The Heavy Pets, Keller Williams, RAQ, Toubab Krewe, and The Whigs to name a few.

Their second full-length studio album The Great Divide, features twelve, tour-tested originals, that explore the depths of the Mama’s Love sound. Recorded by Grammy-nominated producer John Keane, the album gives the listener a glimpse of the energetic, live show experience with a precise understanding of production that only Keane could provide. The album flows well from track to track, complete with guest appearances by John Keane and Randall Bramblett. Athens’ local publication, Flagpole, describes it as the band “immortalizing to tape the soundtrack of their lives—keenly aware of the fact that these are their good ol’ days”. With this reverence to the past and life’s lessons, Mama’s Love continues to look to the future, with plans of tours, studio time, and more one-of-a-kind live show experiences.
